Tennessee State linebacker James Green was named the OVC-Big South Defensive Player of the Week. The Tennessee State Tigers were able claim victory in the 34th Southern Heritage Classic with a 24-14 win over Arkansas Pine Bluff and Green played a major role in the games’ outcome.
With 0:54 left in the game, UAPB set up for a potential game-tying field attempt. The 37-yard attempt was blocked by Brent Rowe and recovered by Green, who took it 92 yards to the house for a game-sealing touchdown.
In addition the decisive score, Green also had 11 tackles.
